Drink water: Staying hydrated is very important while consuming alcohol. It means that you need to consume, plenty of water between cocktails. However, in case if you could not follow the rule and wake up groggy the next morning, make sure you drink a lot of water, in order to rehydrate and flush out the impurities from your system.

Drink other fluids as well: Only water intake is not sufficient, it is equally important that you consume other liquids, especially the electrolyte-rich fluids, such as coconut water, sports drinks, bouillon soup, etc.

Grease up before you go: Having a spoonful of olive oil before the party or eating a pizza or other fatty food is also helpful. They help in greasing up your intestines, therefore the alcohol takes longer to absorb.

Consume sugar while drinking; Researches have identified that fructose can speed up alcohol metabolism, which eventually reduces the risk of a hangover. Therefore it is important to eat sugar while drinking, not before, because fructose metabolizes quickly. So, you can also go for plain orange juice between the cocktails.

Fill up the morning after: It is important to have calories back into your body. So you should compulsorily have breakfast, further, the electrolytes present in food helps in replenishing a dehydrated system. But make sure that you eat the food items that are easy to digest, such as cereal and toast.

Eat ginger: For centuries, people have been using ginger, in order to reduce nausea and vomiting. So you can also try a nibbling crystallized ginger in the aftermath of a night of drinking.

Go back to bed: A hangover is not caused due to the lack of sleep, but it can make it worse. Therefore, don’t forget to take a long nap the day after, it helps to heal the body itself.
